What Does The CYA Do?
The Canadian Youth Assembly is a national organization created by Canadian youth to serve Canadian youth.
The CYA aims to engage uninvolved and apathetic youth in their communities, to assist youth in becoming better leaders, to expose youth to different ideals, experiences, and creeds, to create volunteer opportunities for youth, to build bridges between youth and decision makers, and to instill the notion that all youth have a voice.
We plan events that fulfill these goals, and provide an opportunity for our members and volunteers to interact and bond. All of our actions are collaborative between our volunteers and our members – all youth are welcome, all the time. We welcome every person and are sure to provide each individual with only the work they can handle and attempt to ensure whatever they do is in their field and of interest to them.
We provide a youth-friendly atmosphere, providing youth with the respect they deserve and the responsibility they can manage.
Through supporting the leadership of tomorrow, we’re giving our generation a jump-start at making a difference.
How Do We Do It?
Our organization is both created and run by youth. We depend on our peers to help run and build the CYA, to spread the word, and to give the opinions and ideas that shape the CYA.
In short, the ideas and effort of our members, the youth of Canada, keep the CYA moving.
We also depend on the relationships formed between the CYA and various other national and international organizations. We are prepared to work with any youth-friendly organization to create opportunities for youth.
As a non-profit organization run by volunteers we also need your support. Whether through in-kind services, volunteering, or monetary contributions, we deeply appreciate your help.
How is the CYA Structured?
The CYA runs many different programs, but one thing remains constant: the youth of Canada are in charge.
The CYA prides itself on being a bottom-up organization, with youth having taken part in each and every step of developing and running the organization. From drafting the bylaws to the day-to-day decisions, we do everything we can to include the youth we serve!

How Can You Make A Difference?
There are many way both youth and non-youth can make a difference.
The CYA has an endless need for volunteers to help us in running and planning specific and the day-to-day operation of the organization.
CYA parties require members in order to grow and ensure that there is internal development.
We need the leaders of tomorrow to get involved today and to run to represent their riding!
