Canadian Heritage Roundtable

On March 17th, 2009 Canadian Heritage invited the Canadian Youth Assembly to take part in a roundtable regarding how they could better attract and involve youth in their program.

Tyler Sommers (Executive Director) attended this event on behalf of the CYA. Unfortunately we were unable to send more than one representative.

Before the meeting Tyler posted some threads on the CYA forum in order to gather some input from the CYA membership prior to the event. During the event itself (after apologizing for doing so, and explaining why he was on his phone), Tyler sent messages to members in order to try to get information throughout the meeting.

Overall the needs and suggestions from the CYA were quite different than a majority of the other attendees. The CYA was the only youth created and youth run organization and was one of the very few that did not stress acquiring more money from the government.

We did our best to represent the members of the CYA at this event. As soon as the report is released we are to be notified and we will put it on this site for everyone to see.
